Pentera's Comprehensive 5-Day seminar took place August 20-24, 2007, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Read a few remarks from this year's seminar participants…
"My evaluation of this conference is simply stated; this was the best conference I have attended in any discipline."
"While it was incredibly intense and at times I had to ask myself 'what in the world did I sign up for,' I must admit walking away feeling much more confident with tools and terms that I was not familiar with before."
"The seminar was excellent. It met and exceeded my needs and was perfectly timed for my career development."
"The sessions were an excellent combination of complexity and basic concepts. I feel much more prepared to begin my gift-planning career."
- André gives keynote address at Washington conference
André Donikian, JD, president and editor in chief of Pentera Inc., (bio) (speaking engagements) gave a featured keynote address at the May Planned Giving Days conference hosted by the National Capital Gift Planning Council. André’s talk, Reading the Tea Leaves: What the Numbers Are Telling Us About the Planned Giving Environment, brought attendees up to speed on such current issues as the charitable IRA rollover and Medicaid changes affecting gift planning. André has been speaking frequently this spring at engagements including Culver Academies, Planned Giving Group of Greater New York, Planned Giving Group of New England, and Planned Giving Group of Indiana.
Come hear André speak at one of these upcoming engagements: Chicago Council on Planned Giving (May 31), Wildlife Conservation Society (June 20), Pentera’s 5-Day Planned Giving School (August), Pentera’s Advanced 3-Day Planned Giving Seminar (September).
The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 made major changes in Medicaid qualification requirements that will have a major impact on how we conduct gift-planning activity. IRA transfers and an IRS memo in late 2006 are also complicating the landscape. Whether it is repeal of the federal estate tax, or issues with remainder trusts, lead trusts and pooled income funds—we'll look at how your organization can avoid the mines and take advantage of the opportunities.

- Guest Speaker Dyan Sublett to address relationship skills at Pentera's Planned Giving School in Indianapolis in August 2006
The skeletons of a Tyrannosaurus rex and a triceratops in battle are a visitor favorite at The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. But ensuring the museum's financial future is not a job for a planned giving dinosaur. Dyan Sublett, senior vice president for institutional advancement, will offer advice on "Listening with Your Eyes" and "The Art of Negotiation" at Pentera's 5-Day Comprehensive Planned Giving School, Aug. 21-25 in Indianapolis.
Dyan has worked in advancement and development positions at Art Center College, UCLA, the Sundance Institute, and Hampshire College and as director of the UCLA Program for Women in Philanthropy.
